Melvins @ Soundwave Festival (2011-03-04) recording.
I missed Melvins when they did a handful of Houdini shows a few years back while Fantomas were out here and from listening to a friends recording of the show I regretted it. I wasn’t sure what type of set they’d play here and I didn’t look at recent setlists as I didn’t want the surprised ruined. In the end it turned out to be a set of the 3 most recent albums which I’m happy with because I know them a little better than some of the older ones. Despite Rob Zombie running late the guys played almost the full 40 minutes they were given so that’s pretty cool. If they come back and do a proper run of shows that isn’t an album start to finish I’ll see these guys again for sure because this set was really good.
